Award of Garden Merit(species tulip) This superb tiny tulip species has small, vivid scarlet flowers that open flat in the sun. Upright narrow grey-green leaves. It is excellent for a dry sunny border, rock garden,trough or pots. At Wisley it carpets the ground under a dwarf acer!   Plant the bulbs in late autumn at least 6" deep in well drained soil in full sun.

BT1129 - TULIP ALBERT HEIJN (FOSTERIANA)

This fabulous tulip whicc has thrived on our dry rock garden for many years is known as "the spermarket tulip" as we could not remember its name. It ios named after the owner of the largest Dutch sipermarket chain. The salmon pink flowers have a blue bloom to the outer petals. Early, not too tall and long lasting in flower. Plant the bulbs at least 15cm deep in late autumn in a well drained soil in sull sun. Summer dormant.

Award of Garden Merit (Kaufmaniana) This is still one of the best kaufmaniana tulips. The large  flowers are pure white inside with red and yellow centres and shaded with rose on the outside. (Multi flowered, Chameleon) This wonderful new tulip has up to 6 flowers on each stiff stem. They open the palest primrose yellow, then gradually they develop and soft pink-orange edge to the petals with in time spreads across most of it. Turning it from a yellow tulip to an orange one. Hence the name chameleon tulip.  .  A wonderful and mysterious tulip which packs a huge amount of flower power. Short enough for pots where we poip a few T ballerina in the centre  or we grow it under our pleached pears with anemone blanda White Splendour. Excellent through wallflowers.

Award of Garden Merit (species tulip) This dwarf tulip species is an excellent garden plant which gives great pleasure. It produces masses of small creamy-white flowers with a bold yellow eye that open flat in the sun.
