The wild species daffodils, including our own lent Lily and Tenby daffodil.
These species narcissus are the delicate parents of our garden hybrids. Many come from the mountains of S Europe and have special growing requirements. Many are suitable for growing under cold glass.

BN0581 - NARCISSUS BULBOCODIUM VULGARIS CONSPICUUS (hoop petticoat)
(13) These unusual daffodils have expanded golden yellow trumpets with vestigal petals. This gives them their common name of hoop peticoat daffodils. They like a moist, preferably acid, soil in full sun where they can seed to form large patches. This is a vigorous selection. Plant the bulbs in the autumn. Summer dormant. Suitable for grass.

BN0587 - NARCISSUS LOBULARIS (Narcissus pseudonarcissus;LENT LILY; WILD DAFFODIL)
Division 13. Lent Lily, This species daffodil is a selection of selection of N pseudonarcissus, the wild daffodil of Britain, and one of the best bulbs for naturalising. The flowers have yellow trumpets with paler petals. It is early floweriong and may take up to two seasons to settle.

The Welsh or Tenby Daffodil. This short species daffodil has neat bright yellow trumpet flowers on very stiff stems. It is very long lasting and an excellent bulb for naturalisin in light grass. Plant the bulbs in the autumn. Summer dormant.

BN0586 - NARCISSUS POETICUS RECURVUS (Pheasant's eye)
(13) Pheasant Eye daffodil. Poets daffodil. This late flowering daffodil species is almost the last to flower:in early May. It is strongly scented. The snow-white petals are swept back from a tiny yellow cup edged with red. Almost the last to flower. Wonderful with bluebells and pink campion. Can be naturalised under trees but it will be shy to flower if it is too dry.
